The Church of England in Saddleworth

The Church of England in Saddleworth worships God revealed to us in Jesus Christ. We welcome all who seek God, regardless of race, age, gender, or sexual orientation. We affirm that the Church's mission, in obedience with Holy Scripture is to proclaim the unfailing love of God in every generation. We are a team of nine churches serving our community through prayer and friendship.

Project Launch Weekend

The weekend of 25th-26th March 2017 will mark an exciting stage in the Seeing is Believing project;  the official launch of the major fundraising campaign to repair and restore the heritage of St Chad’s Church Saddleworth and to widen our welcome to the community.

We look forward to welcoming you to St Chad’s Church and to joining in the special events;  your support will be much appreciated.

Plans for the events are taking shape and everyone is invited to join in our special weekend:

Saturday 25th March

11:30am - We welcome a guest team of bell ringers from Essex who will be ringing at St Chad’s from 11:30am – 12:15pm.

12 noon - Coffee will be available in St Chad’s Church.

12:30pm - 'Seeing is Believing' project launch with an official welcome from The Right Reverend Mark Davies, Bishop of Middleton, and Reverend Canon Sharon Jones, Saddleworth Rector. Chairman of Saddleworth Parish Council, Mrs Pam Byrne, will also attend the event.
The welcome will be followed by the presentation of the winning ‘Seeing is Believing’ logo designed by a local young person.
Following the presentation, short talks will be held on the stained glass windows, about their history and importance together with the work and support required to complete the project.

1:00pm - A light lunch will be served with opportunities to ask further questions and look at the displays.

Sunday 26th March

11:00am Mothering Sunday Eucharist service will be held at St Chad’s church.
